PHILANTHROPY

Delta Zeta Foundation - The Delta Zeta Foundation provides funding for programs and resources that promote academic success, and personal and leadership development. Unrestricted gifts allow the Foundation to expand its programs while meeting the increasing needs of Delta Zeta members through such programs as: Greek Life Edu, Enriching U, Norma Minch Andrisek Leadership Conference, the Collegiate Presidents Academy, National Convention, and the ongoing support of the Educational Leadership Consultant Program. Starkey Hearing Foundation - In 1954, Delta Zeta’s National Convention voted to make Speech and Hearing our philanthropy concern. Since then, our members have raised millions of dollars to support local organizations tending to the needs of non-hearing people. In 2016, we named Starkey Hearing Foundation our National Philanthropy Partner in an effort extend our impact throughout the world. Starkey has a public pledge to provide more than one million hearing aids to people in need this decade. They currently give more than 175,000 hearing aids annually through missions around the world. In 2015 Delta Zeta pledged $5 million to the Starkey Hearing Foundation by the year 2020. This pledge will help realize a dream to open speech clinics for those who have only just begun to hear. As of July, 2016, we are more than 20% of our way to meeting that goal.
Please help us contribute to this $5 million goal by donating to our Heart for Hearing page!
Painted Turtle Camp - The Painted Turtle camp (TPT) is Delta Zeta’s National Service Project, coupled with the Sorority’s national commitment to support the camp through donations. The Painted Turtle supports children’s medical needs, inspires them to reach beyond their illnesses, and provides care, education, and respite for their families. There is no billing department. All campers and families attend free of charge.
Newborns in Need - The Denver Alumnae Chapter supports Denver Area Panhellenic's philanthropy, Newborns in Need (NIN). NIN focuses on our communities smallest and most vulnerable citizens. Each year nearly 3,500 babies are delivered at Denver Health. Unfortunately, 90% of these children are born to families who live below the Federal poverty level, often forcing them to make heart-wrenching choices. No family should have to choose between buying necessary items for their child or paying rent. Last year 2,981 families received new baby items though this campaign. When new mothers leave Denver Health with their newborn they will receive a New Baby Welcome Bag to aid their transition from hospital to home. Help NIN fill the bags with these essentials:
Disposable diapers (size 1 & 2), wipes, diaper bags, onesies, undershirts, sleepers, blankets, bibs, socks and booties, sweaters, baby wash/shampoo, nursing supplies (pumps, pads, cream, etc.), baby ear thermometers, baby picture books, infant toys, car seats (Costco Scenera Convertible car seats are ideal), umbrella strollers, cribs and crib sheets.
Items do not need to be wrapped, please only donate items on the list, please no bottles, formula, or pacifiers.
